We Follow The Lord
“If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Rom 10:9)
We are not called to just trust in Christ’s work on the cross, but in Christ Himself. He is not only Savior of all who believe, He already is the Lord of all. The Lord is mentioned 7,836 times in Scripture, in over 6,668 verses. He is called the Lord God in 1,594 of these.
We don’t believe one can take Jesus as Savior and not want Him as Lord. We do not come to a divided Christ; we cannot receive only one part of Him. Salvation is not just a gift of eternal life distinct from Christ; it is the Lord Jesus Christ.
There is no Biblical basis for an optional surrender after an initial salvation. There is a basis for an on-going surrender. The true test of saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior is a commitment to obey the Great Commission to “Make disciples of all nations” (Mt 28:18-20)
There is no salvation in the OT without acknowledging & declaring the Messiah is Lord
In the NT, whenever Jesus is specifically called Savior (11 times) almost always He is first called Lord. The Holy Spirit will empower you to realize the joy of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. “No one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord’ except by the Holy Spirit” (1 Cor 12:3).
There is likewise no salvation in the NT without confessing and trusting in the Lord Jesus as Savior
Once saved, God’s requirement is whole-hearted obedience to all His commands, starting with the Great Commission. But this is true freedom! This is the way to REALLY LIVE!!!
A certain lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus said, “What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?”
He answered and said, “You shall love the lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength and will all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.
Jesus is the Lord of LIFE!
Jesus said to him, “you have answered correctly. DO THIS AND YOU WILL LIVE!” (LK 10:25-28). Coming to trust and love the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and King is nothing short of discovering God’s plan for your life. “The Lord is your Shepherd, you will not live in want” (Ps 23:1). Rather, totally loving the Lord Jesus is your very key to a life that overflows with God’s blessings!
