WHO IS HE?
He is the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit – “He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the one who baptizes in the Holy Spirit. As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Jesus said, ‘I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever. This is the Spirit of Truth. He will be in you. He will teach you all things. He will remind you of all that I said to you. I will send the Helper to you. He will bear witness of Me. He will convict the world of sin. He will guide you and disclose what is to come. He will glorify Me. You will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now’” (Jn 1:33 Mt 3:11, Jn 14:16, 17, 26, 15:26, 16:8, 13, 14, Acts 1:5).
WHO ARE WE?
We Receive His Baptism of the Holy Spirit– “They devoted themselves to prayer. Suddenly there came from heaven the sound of a mighty, rushing wind. There appeared over them tongues of fire. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues. A multitude came together. Peter raised his voice and declared, ‘Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’ There were added that day about three thousand souls. At Caesarea, Cornelius sent for Peter and called together his relatives and close friends. Peter came, and while He was preaching, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening. He ordered them to be baptized, saying, ‘Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?’ In Ephesus, when Paul laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came upon them. He carried me away in the Spirit, saying, ‘Come here, I shall show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb” (Acts 1:14, 2:2, 3, 4, 6, 14, 38, 41, 10:1, 8, 24, 25, 44, 47, 46, 19:6, Rev 21:9, 10).
