Day 11: Jesus is the Anointed One

He is the Anointed One– “Jesus was baptized and while He was praying, heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him like a dove. Andrew found Simon Peter and said, ‘We have found the Messiah,’ which translated means the Christ, the Anointed One. The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind. To set free the oppressed. God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Of the Son the Father says, ‘Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of Your kingdom. You love righteousness and hate lawlessness, therefore God, Your God, has anointed You” (Lk 3:21, 22, Jn 1:41, Lk 4:18, Acts 10:38, Heb 1:9).

We are Anointed –You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed my head with oil. My cup overflows. Peter said, ‘Repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus the Anointed, for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’ He who establishes us with you in the Anointed One and anoints us is God. You have an anointing from the Holy One. The Spirit of life in the Anointed Jesus sets you free from sin and death. If the Anointed One is in you, the Spirit is alive because of righteousness. The anointing you received from Him abides in you. You have no need for anyone to teach you. His anointing teaches you all things. It is true and not a lie. It teaches you to abide in Him” (Ps 23:5, Acts 2:38, 2 Cor 1:21, 1 Jn 2:20, Rom 8:2, 10, 1 Jn 2:27).
