Day 12: Jesus is the Faithful Witness

40 DAYS OF DEVOTION

WHO IS HE?

He is the Faithful Witness – “The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bondservants. Jesus Christ is the Faithful Witness, the First-born from the dead and the Ruler of the Kings of the Earth. Even if I bear witness of Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going. My judgment is true, for I am not alone in it, but I and He who sent me. The Father bears witness of Me, and I know that the testimony which He bears of Me is true. The miracles that I do bear witness of Me. The Scriptures bear witness of Me. The Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the Creation of God, says this to the angel of the church in Laodicea: ‘Hear My voice, open the door. Dine with Me. Overcome. Sit with Me and My Father’” (Rev 1:1, 5, Jn 8:14, 16, 5:32, 36, 39, Rev 3:14, 20, 21).

WHO ARE WE?

We are Witnesses of Jesus’ Death and Resurrection – “John came as a witness of the light, that all might believe through him. You are witnesses of these things. You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and ever to the remotest part of the earth. This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses. So is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him. Of Him the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins. ‘Stand up, for this purpose I have appeared to you, appoint you a minister and a witness not only to the things which you have seen, but also to the things in which I will appear to you. Open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light, from the dominion of Satan to God, to receive forgiveness of sins.’ I did not prove disobedient to the heavenly vision” (Jn 1:7, Lk 24:48, Acts 1:8, 2:32, 5:32, 10: 43, 26:16, 19).
