40 DAYS OF DEVOTION
WHO IS HE?
He is the Lamb of God – “The next day John saw Jesus coming and said, ‘Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!’ He was led as a sheep to slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so He does not open His mouth. You were redeemed with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing. Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb. Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb. He showed me a river of life coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb” (Jn 1:29, Is 53:7, Acts 8:32, 1 Pet 1:19, Rev 5:12, 19:9, 22:1).
WHO ARE WE?
We are His Lambs – “As for you, My sheep, the sheep of My pasture, you are men, and I am your God. Go, behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves, so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves. Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon, do you love Me?’ He said to Him, ‘yes, Lord, You know that I love You.’ He said to him, ‘Tend My lambs. Shepherd My sheep. Tend My sheep.’ You were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls. The Lamb will overcome. Those who are with Him are the called and the chosen and the faithful. Come here, and I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” (Ezek 34:31, Lk 10:3, Mt 10:16, Mt 7:15, Jn 21:15, 16, 17, 1 Pet 2:25, Rev 17:14, 21:9).
