40 DAYS OF DEVOTION
WHO IS HE?
He is the Son of God – “This is the beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The angel said to her, ‘The Holy Child shall be called the Son of God.’ And behold, a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of His father David. Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ The centurion said, ‘Truly this was the Son of God!’ Demons were coming out of many, shouting, ‘You are the Son of God.’ They said, ‘Are You the Son of God?’ He said to them, ‘Yes, I am.’ The Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, is speaking. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. You will see the heavens opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son” (Mk 1:1, Luke 1:35, 32, Mt 16:16, 27:54, Lk 1:41, Rev 2:18, Jn 1:51).
WHO ARE WE?
We Proclaim Jesus as the Son of God – “Philip said, ‘If you believe with all your heart, you may.’ He answered, ‘I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.’ And he baptized him. Immediately Paul began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, saying, ‘He is the Son of God.’ I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. He who has the Son has the life. He who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. Christ gave leaders to equip the saints until we attain to the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the fullness of Christ. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him and he in God” (Acts 8:37, 38, 9:20, Gal 2:20, 1 Jn 5:12, Eph 4:11, 12, 13, 1 Jn 3:15).
