40 DAYS OF DEVOTION
WHO IS HE?
He is Our Lord – “This is the One referred to by Isaiah the prophet when he said, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord.’ Jesus found Philip and said to him, ‘Follow Me.’ Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the worlds of eternal life. ‘Lord, do not trouble Yourself further, just say the word and my servant will be healed, for I, too, am a man under authority.’ The man born blind said, ‘Lord, I believe.’ And he worshiped Him. The Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them out in pairs. If the rulers of this world had understood, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. The Lord said to my Lord, ‘Sit at My right hand until I put Your enemies beneath Your feet.’ All authority on heaven and earth has been given to Me. God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ. I saw a great white throne, and Him who sat upon it” (Mt 3:3, Jn 1:43, Jn 6:68, Lk 7:6-8, Jn 9:38, 10:1, 1 Cor 2:8, Rom 14:9, Mt 22:44, Mt 28:18, Acts 2:36, Rev 20:11).
WHO ARE WE?
We Obey the Lord – “If you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. I (Paul) did not prove disobedient to the heavenly vision, but kept declaring that they should repent and turn to God, from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, in order that they might receive forgiveness of sins. At the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of the Father” (Rom 10:9, 13, Mt 7:21, Mt 4:19, Acts 26:19-20, 18, Phil 2:11).
