40 DAYS OF DEVOTION TO JESUS
WHO IS HE?
He is Our Healer – “I am the Lord that heals you. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Jesus said to him, ‘I will come and heal him.’ He cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were ill. This was in order that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, ‘He Himself took our infirmities and carried away our diseases.’ Jesus was going through all the cities, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every kind of sickness. He saw a large crowd and felt compassion for them, and healed their sick. He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we mght die to sin and live to righteousness, for by His wounds you were healed” (Ex 15:6, Ps 147:3, Mt 8:7, 16-17, Is 53:4, Mt 9:35, 1 Pet 2:24).
WHO ARE WE?
We are both Healed and Healers – “Lord, if you are willing, You can make me clean. I am willing; be cleansed. Go your way, let it be done to you as you have believed. If I only touch His garment, I shall get well. Daughter, take courage, your faith has made you well. One of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, glorifying God will a loud voice.
He called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and perform healing. Departing, they began going throughout the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everyone. Peter said to him, ‘Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed.’ Immediately he got up” (Mt 8:13, Lk 10:1-2, 6, Acts 9:34).
