Day 4: Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords

40 DAYS OF DEVOTION

WHO IS HE?

He is the King of kings and Lord of lords – “They took palm branches and went out to meet Him, shouting, ‘Hosanna. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel.’ Our Lord Jesus Christ is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords. He alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light. To Him be honor and eternal dominion. The kings of the earth take their stand, and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against His Christ. These will wage war against the Lamb. The Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings. Those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful. On His robe and on his thigh He has a name written, King of kings and Lord of Lords” (Jn 12:13, 1 Tim 6:14, 15, 16, Acts 4:25, Rev. 17:14, 19:16).

WHO ARE WE?

We Glorify Our King “Now, Lord, take note of the threats of the rulers that gather against Your Christ, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence, while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness. I saw a sign in heaven. I saw those who came off victorious from the beast. They sang the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God, Almighty. Who will not fear You and glorify Your name? You alone are holy. All the nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed. When the King comes to judge, the armies which are in heaven, clothed in find linen, white and clean, follow Him on white horses. They will reign with Christ” (Acts 4:26, 29, 30, 31, Rev 15:2, 3, 4, 19:14, 20:4).
