THANK YOU for your 40 Days of Devotion to the Lord Jesus

Dear family in Jesus,

I pray you will have a lifetime full of devotion to Jesus.

I trust you have enjoyed our journey with Jesus through our 40 Days of Devotion. If you missed one or more of them, the entire 40 Days of Devotion to Jesus is available in this blog.

As I mentioned in the introduction, the verse that the Lord used to prompt me to explore 40 of the names and descriptions of Jesus is 1 Cor 7:35. “This is say for your own benefit. I want to promote what is becoming. Secure undistracted devotion to Jesus.”

Devotion to Jesus is noble, honorable and excellent in the eyes of others. It is also extremely pleasing to God. Devotion speaks of sitting near to the Lord, being settled and steadfast, not easily distracted or drawn away, always ready to serve Him.

Jesus said to Martha, “You are worried and bothered about so many things, only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good part” (Lk 10:41, 42).

“Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray” (Lk 5:16). Cultivate this habit. Challenging days are ahead. I recommend you set aside a daily time where you make it your goal to “secure undistracted devotion to Jesus” (1 Cor 7:35). There are many names and descriptions of Jesus we didn’t cover which you can explore, and volumes more in the Bible about your walk with God.

In conclusion, I encourage you, my precious “Jesus family, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (Js 4:8). “Love the Lord” with all your being (Mt 22:37). “Lay aside every distraction” (Heb 12:1). “Learn Christ” (Eph 4:20). It is my prayer for you that you will continually “grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Pet 3:18).

Fixing our eyes on Jesus,
