We Send Out Leaders
Jesus said to them, “Follow Me and I will make you a fisher of men”
The Lord Jesus wants every true follower, every disciple, to learn how to lead people to trust Him as their personal Savior. In this way, every disciple will become a leader. They will be influential, especially in introducing the unsaved to their Savior.
In His fourth invitation into discipleship, Jesus invites His followers to discover their true purpose in life. We invite YOU to discover your destiny to become a leader who advances the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus.
The Sending Heart of God
God’s sending heart is revealed throughout Scripture. “Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” (Is 6:8).
Jesus quoted, “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me… He has sent me” (Is 61:1). He was so aware that He was sent by the Father, He mentioned that He was sent 21 times in John chapters 5-9! Then He said, “As the Father has sent me, so I send you” (John 17:18, 20:21).
“He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach, and to have authority to cast out the demons” (Mk 3:14). “He sent them, two and two ahead of Him to every city and place where He was going to come” (Lk 10:1).
The Church That SENDS
It is clear that the primary emphasis of Jesus’ teaching is that believers must “go.” Just as He came into our world, He sends His disciples to enter into the world of the non-Christian. Disciples are called to imitate Jesus’ lifestyle (Mt 10:24). We are sent to bring the kingdom to the non-Christians.
Just as God authenticated the message of the kingdom with power, signs and wonders in the life of Jesus, in the same way, He does so in the lives of 21st Century believers.
“Jesus was going about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people” (Matt 4:23) “Stephan, full of grace and power, was performing great wonders and signs among the people” (Acts 6:8).
Jesus growth strategy is that the believers go into the homes, the marketplaces and the religious places of the non-Christian and meet with them in their world (just as He did). At the Rising Church, we equip and train you to become the harvest leader that the Lord Jesus is calling you to be!
